Disability Access

Welcome to Lime Tree Dental Practice

We want all of our patients to have the best possible experience. We want to be the best dental practice for YOU!

We have a disability access policy and are committed to complying with the relevant regulations, legislation and the GDC standards to provide a caring and inclusive environment to all patients and staff.

All of our team at Lime Tree Dental Practice have completed The Autism and Learning Disability Awareness Course.

Special Assistance dogs are welcome, although some restrictions apply.

Wheelchair users:

There are a few things to bear in mind when planning your visit to see us. We have a sloping driveway, which some wheelchair users will need assistance with. Please let us know when you book your appointment if this is the case, so that one of our friendly reception team can come and help assist as you might require.

Parking: We do not have a dedicated disabled parking space. If there are no on-street parking spaces immediately outside & there is not a car on the drive, you are welcome to park on or across the driveway.

There is a gently sloping, access ramp to the wide, front door. There is a low-level doorbell to alert a member of staff to help open the door for you, if you feel this might be useful. The front door opens both inwardly and outwardly.

There is an access ramp to the back garden, for warmer days when you might like to sit and enjoy our garden, whilst you are awaiting your appointment.

The reception desk is multi height to allow easy communication with our reception team.

Disabled Access toilet: We are sorry that we do not have a disabled access toilet cubicle, due to to the layout of our small practice and its size restrictions.

Our dental chair can be lowered, for anyone who is able to transfer to the dental chair for treatment.

Our ground floor surgery is usable by all clinicians. Please let our receptionist know when you book your appointment if you need a ground floor surgery, so they can book accordingly.

If you have to remain in your chair, the dental chair has an adjustable headrest which can be positioned to align with your chair, to enable your dentist to treat you comfortably.

Information Access:

We have portable ‘Clinipads’, so that any documents which might explain about treatments or require a signature can easily be held. Our reception team can help with this if you are not able to hold a pad.

If information is needed in a larger font, we can arrange for this. We will also take extra time to read through documents with you if you will find this helpful.

Hearing:

We have a hearing loop in reception which can be carried into the surgery if required. We also use Google translate on our ‘Clinipads’, which can be used to help with clarity and switched to different languages if needed.

PEEPS: Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans: In line with fire regulations guidance, we ask that you please let our reception team know if you require particular assistance in case of evacuation. This information will be added to your patient record, so that in case of an emergency, we will know how best to assist you. All staff are regularly trained in fire drill procedure, which includes sign language for fire escape.
